Drama Fill in?

I was out for a 3 hour night ride last night. It was fun.

So what happened round these parts?

It looks like everyone of petes posts have been deleted?

Who cried and who was offended?

Are people still upset about Pete having money?

Is Mike Dansey going to actually buy a bike?

Did we come to a solution for responding to incorrect advice without offending the poster? what can be said and what cannot be said? (the reason I ask is because it seems fine if other members fire back harshly at people posting nonsense but if Pete posts something like that all hell will break loose)

Is pete limited to posting only pictures and videos?

My suspicion is the mods deleted it. It started off on the wrong foot being aimed at a particular person (Pete). It kinda became a pounce-on-Pete thread. And, though he's perfectly capable of defending himself he really shouldn't have to. Anyway, that was my take on it.

BTW, I had Brian delete my drama thread just because the issue got resolved.

I tink people dislike Pete because he's incredibly harsh to anyone who could have used Google to find what they're looking for instead of posting here.

A lot of posts have been disappearing of late. In the past, it seemed like the mods would just close a thread. Lately, the threads have been staying open, but selected posts are deleted. I'm not sure how I feel about this... especially when there is no explanation... just a disappearing post.

There was a bit of debate going on before Pete resorted to extremely personal insults. end of thread, and posts, right there.

"Shout it from the mountain" It was all Pete! Nobody else used names, insults, or derogatory statemants.
Dude! you hadn't even been posting much in this forum lately, untill a heated discussion ensued. Then you were like a moth drawn to the flame war!

Actually this is the way it has traditionally been done. We would remove a post or series of posts and inform the person(s) who offended. We tended to only delete entire threads if it was spam and we would lock threads if it was getting completely out of hand but some of the info was downright useful or funny.

The posts are still there, you just have to log in as Pete Fagerlin to see them. Google "global ignore" "end of thread, and posts, right there." Nope, not right there. In fact, what you deemed to be "extremely personal insults" (since you lack context), actually one "insult" was even quoted and ignored by Brian, the site admin and the thread went into another page, including more of your whining.

How is that a load of crap? Stupid people post here with dumbassed questions they could have easily answered for themselves with an easy search, Pete flames the hell out of them, and all is good again.

How did you determine that anyone who posted such a question got the "harsh" treatment?

Using that logic, you can find anything on Google. So why ever post a question on this sacred forum of experts and waste their time with a question that to them is dumbass?
And if it truly is..... just don't reply....go on to a better thread.

What I see is people being able to dish-it-out, but not able to take it when it comes back.

Lighten up......live a little......and if you don't agree with me....thats fine too....it all good.

heck I don't know about now a days. I was just speaking from my experiences over a year ago. I tried to always notify the user and/or post in the thread.

Dude! you hadn't even been posting much in this forum lately, untill a heated discussion ensued. Then you were like a moth drawn to the flame war!

The heated discussion was started by myself, because I was tired of Pete. I was drawn to nothing And given the insulting nature of his posts, I couldn't merely stand back and watch... that would be akin to letting him win, I suppose. But he didn't win. I'm still here, am I not?

For reference, the insult I noted was a degrading comment about someone's sexuality (or gender identification? Excuse me, I don't know the proper term). I find this kind of thought/comment utterly disgraceful. I guess it's the commie pinko liberal in me.

I'm sorry your lovely Pete is gone. I'm sure he'll be back, don't worry. And I doubt he will have changed.

Let me interrupt your cuddle-fest with Mike and direct your attention to post #10.

For someone who has claimed to know more than 95% of the people on this forum (due to previously reading a weight weenie forum no less!) you seem to really be struggling.

For your sake, I hope you can work out your problems.
