07 Rockshox Argyle 302 or 07 Marzocchi DJ1

I know, i know - another poll. K, so this one is about which fork i should get. If i were to buy the dj1's i'd get the mint green ones. They look sweet and i won't be loosing out on the performence or style points from the argyle. I know the are both solid forks but the 07 dj1 is basically cheaper then the bottom of the line 302(they're all good). So go forth and vote!

i would personally go with the dj1. i love my dj 3, even though mine doesn't have a 20mm axle, like the dj1 does

well the 2008 marzocchi's are out, so wait for the RockShox to come out so you know what people are charging for the 07 Argyle's and 07 dj1's. i would personally go with the dj1's, but that's because im most familiar with them.

hey do you guys think it's worth it to spend the extra $50 to get the argyle 318's instead?
it says they come 'motion control' and aluminum uppers for upgrades. Anybody know what motion control is(no jokes).

nevermind about the 318's. I heard (from some LBS's) that the Rockshox Argyle 302's and other rs's will be on huge sales/clearance deals in like 4 months! I can't wait to pick them up, do you guys think 5.5 lb's is heavy for a dj fork? and next week i get my yellow wellgo mg-1's.

5.5 is pretty average, you can get lighter, but you can also get heavier ones.

yeah, yeah, i know - it's a bit on the heavy side. But what do you people think about the Manitou Gold Label 1's? they're 4.6lb's and i'd get the 100mm travel too. I wonder if u can get the 1's in green?
Anyways, opinions as always are great!

Personally I would still go with the argyles. I'm not really a big fan of the GLs. I rode a friend of mines on some dirt jumps and they just weren't doing it for me. It might have been his set up or something but for me they seemed to have quite a bit of flex to them. The argyles on the other hand. Nice and stiff.

And no I'm not just saying this because its a manipoo...hell manitou makes some pretty awesome forks (travis series).

well.......i think the gl 1's are cheaper - but i would have to try them both out to see which fork i'd prefer(obviously). But my main reason for the manitou query is that the gl 1's are about 1 lb lighter then the argyles - and the reverse arch thing looks sswweeeett!

why are you being a weight weenie about a dirt jumping fork. They are not supposed to be light, they are supposed to be bombproof, your better off with a heavier fork that can take a beating than a light fork that can't. I am not saying that the gold labels can't take a beating cuz i wouldn't know, but i don't think that weight should be a priority when buying a dj fork

I'm not, i'm just trying to find a moderately light fork. Anyways the gold label 2's look pretty sound so no worries there(read lots of reviews). Also does the hexlock mean that i have to buy 20mm hubs or can i use standards?

he was telling you that the lighest dirt jumping fork is a rigid dirt jumping fork. and yes the haex means you need a new axle(fork probably comes with one) and a new front wheel

im not sure about the whole thing with the hexlock, but in the end, what do you plan on doing with your new forks? dont mention if you got this one, or that one, but what are you looking for in the fork. that might help us all out a little.

not knowing the situation here, i dont want to give any advice (it might be wrong for you), but dont be afraid of weight. also, budget?

and not to be mean or anything, i personally hate the looks of the arch thingy (hell, i dont even know what its called, anyone want to tell me?) in the back. it reminds me of zellers bikes.

Zellers
"is that fork on backwards?"
"yup"

Manitou
"Is that fork on backwards?"
"nope, its a Manitou."
"o, ok..."

For that? Yes. FYI: if you get any of the forks you've looked at in a 20mm axle variety...

(wait for it)

..yes, you'll need a 20mm front wheel.
