Iron Horse Sizing

I'm planning to buy a new Iron Horse. Right now I'm leaning towards the Maverick 5.5 in Green. With the sale that's going on + coupon + perform. points + double points weekend, it's going to be dirt cheap. I'm trying to decide between 15.5 and 17.5. I think 17.5 is the way to go. I'm 6'0", but my inseam is really short (30 inches) so I'm very long torsoed and I tend to run small on bikes. Any thoughts? Any opinions about the bike in general?

don't get an ironhorse: they're heavy, all the mavericks mostly run low-end components, and i personally dread the ride. Get a kona stuff instead: https://konaworld.com/08_stuff.htm

you'll be alot happier with a bike that'll last then an ironhorse from...sportchek? am i right?

I asked about a $350 bike and you respond with a different type of bike that costs 3 times as much. Any one else?

unless your doing crazy stuff the 15.5 is gonna be small, im 5'8 and my old ride was a 16 inch and it was small. Of course it was meant to be small but, that 15.5 is gonna be like the jolly green giant riding a kids bike.

Also, I'm 5'10 and ride a 17.5, it fits pretty good, maybe a tiny bit to big. I don't know if this helps you but it's just to give you an idea.

Nice assumption...how come my buddy's Sunday is lighter than my V10?

Another assumption...judging from the OP's avatar, he's in the states. ShortChek has the exclusive rights for IH in Canada, not the US. It's too bad because IH makes some sweet bikes and there would probably be a lot more up here if LBS could bring them in as well.

To the OP, I wouldn't buy a bike without riding it first. Especially if you have different than 'normal' proportions.

I am 5' 9" with 31 barefoot inseam, 32" riding inseam and long torso. I ride an Iron Horse Warrior Comp 17.5". If the maverick geo is anything like the warrior comp, you may need a super long stem to get a comfortable reach on that bike. my TT is something like 22.5 and it's a nice fit, just right, I wouldn't want it any shorter.

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered the 17.5.

I've ridden a 17.5 Trek previously and it fit great, but I just wanted to make sure that IH sizing is not a vast departure from other bikes.

EDIT: I'm really glad I did b/c now it's $100 more than it was this morning. My whole deal was $301 plus the double points. ~$240 for that bike is the deal of a lifetime me thinks.
