Felt Q720? i have a chance at a good deal

On my way home from doing 36 miles on the Va Creeper Trail, I stopped by LBS thinking maybe it's time to upgrade from my Diamondback Wildwood.
LBS showed me a 08 Diamondback Response Comp for $600.00, he also showed me a 07 Felt Q720 he cut down to $700.00 out the door, I rode both, the Diamondback felt better, the Felt has a much better spec, also I am partial to the FELT as I have a FELT roadie.
The bars are wider and the seat felt better on the DB, I think that is most of diff, fork felt smoother too but this was street riding.
The FELT seems like a deal, hyd brakes, ROCHSHOX DART 2 fork and XT stuff, don't know anything about SRAM, I am going back tomorrow and compare and think some more, any thoughts anyone?

Is this a good deal?

Ii went and rode both again today, the FELT felt ? better today, I am close to pulling the trigger on it. I am not sure about sizing, it's an 18", my roadie is 54cm and my diamondback is 20" but it's a comfort bike. When doing stand over I can loft front wheel 2", is this good?

I have no idea of the merits of either (so, yes, I should shut up); but any company that pays homage to the Bultaco Pursang is more than just OK in my book :

They also make the Bolt - -a Yamaha-motif that recalls Bob "Hurricane" Hannah:

I love 'em all; but I have to admit that the Pursang still has a very special place in my heart (and Sherpa Ss and Astros - - and Ossa Stilettos and DMRs) . . . but Pursangs, ah . . . .

I took a Felt Q720 for a test, and really came close to buying it, but I made the best decision of the year and bought a Specialized Hard Rock Comp instead...

The Flet Q720 has a really low bottom bracket, which not only causes problems with logs, rocks, dogs and other such obstacles, but also when your up and out of your saddle peddling for speed, the bottom bracket swings like a mother F***er, causing huge discomfort and balance problems.

(Also peddles hit the ground going around tight corners, which is very dangerous at speed.)

My advice is dont buy the Felt, but If youve already fallen for it I know Im waisting my time, its one purdy piece of steel.

I know the spec is good, but I bought the specialized with a good frame, and ok parts, which can be upgraded over time, make sure the frame is good 1st!!!

Hope this helps

I BOUGHT THE FELT!!!!!!!!!
I brought it home thursday evening, couldn't ride, had to go bowling, stupid league bowling!, couldn't ride friday evening, finally some rain, no riding saturday, wife wants quality time, can't complain, I've worked monster hours for 6 months, that's why wife was ok with new bike.I de-stickered it and removed reflectors and dork plate this morning, it's sitting right here behind me on the treadmill alongside it's stablemate, my Felt F90 roadie. I added a CATEYE MICRO wireless puter and an AVENIR bag, I have a pair of campus pedals that came off the roadie I'm gonna use, that way I can clip in or do sneakers, oh yeah, switched saddle to a WTB PURE V.
Sunday, Va Creeper Trail, here I come, this will be shakedown ride to get feel of new bike, can't wait! The trees are turning color now, should be cool in morning.
I'll report back, I'll try to do pictures, I'm not sure how to post pics.
