Winter Tyres

Hi!

Can any one give me some advice about tyres. I'm finding the more wet, muddy terrain difficult going. Is there any advantage in getting tyres designed for the weather. Would I notice a difference?

I'm not sure what I've got as it is, they came with my XTC and Im not sure what the signficant measure on the tyre is with regard to terrain or if the "model" is the important bit.

Thanks for the help.
