Road bike innertubes for MB handlebar wrap

I have on several occasions used old road bike innertubes to repair or replace tool handles by tightly stretching and wrapping the innertube around the handle and tying it off by tightly pulling and tucking the end under the last full wrap.

I just tried this on my MB and it works like a charm. One or two layers produces a very durable and somewhat tacky grip. Also, it is good for mods since you are not limited by the length of the mass produced grip.
