I will say that I have not done much riding lately(work deadlines). I'll be getting killed by all you good riders. I've spent the last few days in Charelston SC working on my cardio.......

Rgr that. We're bringing a long bed F150 and a 12' trailer.

BTW, anyone got a spare fork? I blew the rebound cartridge in my 66 and marzocchi is apparently evacuated due to fire...

That's all I have been doing lately...but I'm only running 7.5" in the front (does that still count?).

Seriously? I was planning on bringing the Coiler but just discovered an issue...it'd be easier to bring the V10 but it'd be fun if we ONLY go down!

Indeed. To add insult to injury, never is bailing from the frosty Northland leaving me stuck up there wondering whether I should have brought my bike or my skis

Have a blast you guys. Wasn't gonna happen for me this year; but it's not going to stop me from dreaming of next.

What's it for, gastro? I imagine an inverted 8" dual-crown is overkill?

D, we should just start one for West Coast.

I am in the initial planning stages of a West Coast Spring Forum Ride. Fall doesn't work around here because of the often-still-extreme wildfire danger around here (read: no campfires and such).

I've picked 66's brain about this before and I think I can make it do-able. I've figured out two or three good venues; one day of trail riding and a splinter-group to attack the downhill courses of Beacon; another day of trails at Mount Spokane. Camping aplenty on the Minor homestead, both primitive/tent and semi-RV-friendly (power/water but not sewer).

That's what I'm toying with.

Whistler, Whistler, Whistler...that should be the venue for a western forum ride! I'm going to be out there next year around Crankworx with a group of about 10 people. Plus we can throw a few days hitting the Shore too...

It should be! I'd still like to do a camp-based one sometime to help keep the costs for everyone down. We were up in June and, despite a bit of sogginess, it was a blast. I really want to try the CBC too. Might just have to be a western BC thing.

Hey, I KNOW you tried, never. And, yeah, my wife was telling me the temps today and this week up there and, well, this would have been the week to be up there. Looks like the cold front's gonna sweep in right around check-in time. Ah well . . . .

Remember Maelstrom said he would provide lodging at his place and feed everyone as well...that'll definitely keep costs down!

You'll have to make a trip back next year during the riding season. Lots of fun trails nearby if you want to ride up as well as down, plus some great shuttle locations, and several sweet resorts within three hours from the city (including Kickinghorse, Panorama, Fernie).

It looks like we are going to have quite a few riders this year. We can work out the rides however you guys want too. We can split up for some as well, some can shuttle and some can pack in the miles. It's raining now(through thur.) but it looks like sunny and highs in the mid to upper 60's.

Gastro, don't be a sissy, bring the Enduro.

Yes, but you know where there is mtnbiker66, there will be climbing - most of the best stuff isn't shuttleable anyhow (but some of it is, muahahaha).

Thanks for the offer dminor - I imagine I'll be able to figure something out on this end though.

66, please get out on Spence/Trace with a leaf blower before we arrive. Thanks.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to back out. I'm stuck doing house stuff all weekend. I will be finalizing the details on my new home on Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday I will be working on remodeling the home I'm planning on selling to help pay for the new home. It looks like my much needed get away is going to be postponed. I don't think I am ever going to get a day off, I'm about ready to freaking explode!!!
