Quick question about changing pedals
Hey guys. My first post!!! Anyway, I have a quick question about changing from my pedal straps (like toe clips but more heavy-duty without the toe cage part) to normal flat pedals. My Jamis is in the shop and I am riding my old Gary Fisher, with flat pedals of course. And the last time I did a jump on my dirt trail, I fly up in the air and my bike stays on the ground. I land on the seat pretty hard, and my shins get all dug up from my spikey pedals. So... Any advice on transitioning? Will I be able to hit those jumps again with flats, or will I be cursed with a bike that won't stick to my feet. Thanks!

By the way I know I am a noob. I am relatively young and new in the sport. I can, however, hit up to 2 or 3 foot drops on the steeps without dying! Don't laugh at me

I think it has less to do with your pedal and more to do with how you jump. When jumping I usually shft my weight back to the rear of the bike so that it is almost like I am pushing the pedals forward with my feet while I am in the air. Maybe someone more firmiliar can give a better description.
