    Switching brake cables

Is there any good reason, on my own personal bike, not to switch the brake cables around so that the front brake is on the right and the rear on the left? The only reason for this is that I also ride motorcycles and am much more used to grabbing the right lever for the front brake, which is where most of your stopping power is going to be. Not that I can't learn the difference, but I always have to think twice when I first get on the bicycle .

Not really any good reason not to do it at all, IMHO - it's as much a preference thing as anything else.

Bikes sold in Australia, Asia and I think most of Europe typically have a right-front brake combo as standard anyway. I grew up in Australia, so it's my preference too, plus I like having the brake I use the most in my stronger, dominant right hand.
