Amazing isn't it, some people actually have a life outside of mountain biking...

And no these arent computers, these are parts of a computer. Specifically (in order of appearance) Motherboard, Central Processing Unit (CPU) and Memory Modules.

I woudn't need to "plug" all these things into my bike to go faster, Im fast enough as is .

I'm glad you fast, don't get offended by the smile!
Um....let me think about this for a sec. Should I provide a link to a computer related forum?

No need to flame. You already know you are wrong, no need to rub it in.

Nice parts. Glad to see the AMD...

A Mac? muahahahahhahahahha! Never will I buy a Mac.

Chuvak, no need to direct me to a pc forum Im a member of 5. I just wanted to share my new goodies with you guys, hoping you would be happy for me. Apparantley if it doesnt have two wheels and a fork why even bother.

Some side info:

The 2500+ Barton core is a cpu that runs at 1.85ghz. With that board and ddr, I can oveclock it to 2.5ghz. I just saved myself $150+.

Yeah, how do you stay devoted to two different interests?... I find that my focus is seasonal... or rather comes in chunks of time... one month I'm buying games, the other into upgrading my machine... and now I'm tearing my hair apart trying to buy a new bike...

Here's a question... is it weird to find a LBS NOT offering free labor for the first year on a bike? and I mean labor for anything other than free tune ups.

If i were you troie, i would have bought a dual cpu mobo, and then two cheap 2.2's. this is what my friend did, he now has a 4.4 P4 PC. Cheaper as well, as the P4's are goin down in price.

Check out www.cclcomputers.co.uk for cheap parts.

My friend gets all his parts there, and builds machines for people. Last week he made a 1.8 P4, 256RAM, 80gig HDD, 64Gfx card, sound card, 56k modem for 110 pounds, and if he had felt the need, could have flogged it to the woman for three times that. I gotta start doin this, building these things is like building lego.

cj, Ive been into pc's since I was 8. Besides I have more than 2 different interest that I am devoted to at the same time. Basketball, Computers, Weight Lifting and Mountain Biking.

Dazza, sounds like your friend made a good box for a good deal. What is the U.S. dollar conversion of 110 pounds?

That's one extreme case.

Hey Dazza, from what I hear, a dual cpu setup doesn't really mean double the speed. You'll really can see performance only if the software you're running is made for parallel processing, or if your O/S can nicely handle the setup.... aparantly... of course I could be COMPLETELY wrong...

I know personally I just don't like them. Things might have changed with the new osbeing bsd but I found most of the power hidden. I hate things that are point and click I tend to want/need a command line interface that offers almost as much power as the gui itself. Unfortunately windows is even removing this, but for the most part I can still do a lot of work from the command line.

I know with BSD, being unix, you have absolute control over the kernel and the OS itself. If the gui doesn't offer everything you can drop to the command line and enjoy the feeling. I don't like things made easy as it tends to a) slow me down and b) make things way to difficult for my command line brought up brain. This of course is from an administrators point of view.

I also tend to hate mac users as they tend to be useless teets...excluding the ones who buy the mac for the power most guys buy it for the ease of use. Funny thing is, stuff still breaks and they have no clue how to fix squat. I run into this often with end users having a conference and something goes wrong, they can never fix it on there own. Just an observation...

I will give mac this, they make cute computers and if I ever bought a laptop I would go mac 100%...past that I will keep my windows ...

Well i checked with my bud today, he had two 2.6's in nowadays, yes thats 5.2's, and i have no idea about the actual running speed, but he is happy, as the buffer he has is so meaty, he can burn straight form his voice/camera, onto a cd, bypassing the HDD.

Sound good to me.

The percentage of software and hardware compatibility in conjunction with the pocket book is slim. I'll admit, they handle high end video and audio editing and Apple makes some pretty snazzy stuff, I'm just used to Windows and are comfortable with it.

My comment was in no way to refer to Apple in a dimunitive manner. Sorry Mr. Jobs
