Headshoks and Disc Brakes

I just have a simple yet challenging question. I ride a 2000 Cannondale F500 with a HeadShok Fatty M fork. I know that the CADD3 frame is compatable with disc brakes, but the forks don't have the same sort of mounts. I notice various different holes located on the forks, is there some sort of adapter plate I could get my hands on?

I'd really like to switch over to discs, but if my fork is not compatable my any means, then I'll be way over butget if I were to try to swap it out.

I'm pretty sure the fork will have disk mounts...the 1999 Fatty M Forks had disk mounts i beleive.

Look for two holes on the left hand side of the fork leg near the bottom...they should be it. You could need an adapter if the disk brake isn't compatible but that shouldn't be a problem.

Well that's the problem, the two large tabs that you're referencing, like the ones set up for the rear on my frame, are not on the forks. there are some holes on the very inside of each fork arm, as if to mount and adapter plate of some sort. Thing is though, those holes are rather small, and do not appear to be treaded...

And something else I just thought of, what to do with the v-brake mounts after I upgrade to discs? I suppose they could be ground off, but how mech is too much?

If your fork leg (non drive side) doesnt look like either of these, then you are SOL. Im guessing if your fork is disc compatible, it should look like the fork on the left (international standard)

I unscrewed the V-brake mounting posts and inserted plastic plugs into the mount holes front and rear.
