terminology

Ok, Im going like mega newb here. Like worse then Ricoh Newb lol

I'm reading some of the trail maps for my local area, and there using terms like straight track, switchbacks, and stuff like that,

whats all that mean lol?
and what other words should I know?

(before you tell me to use search feature, it doesn't work on my browser for some reason)

Do you mean singletrack? Singletrack is tight trails, and can be somewhat more technical than fire-roads or double track.

If you search "MTB Terms", it comes up with a huge list of MTB slang, some of it commonly used but most of it stuff that only prozeurs would say.
