specalized

Hi I am looking for a bike with 4-5'' of travel - - a bike with no pedal bob. I looked at the Specalized Stumpjumper with brain fade, which I liked; but on their web site, they list brain fade and flow control as descriptions for their rear suspension design. Are these different designs or are they the same? Has anyone used these designs of rear suspension on the Specalized? Can anyone recomend another brand of bike that has a no-pedal-bob design or something similar to the Specalized design? Thanks for the help.

Take the extra 10 seconds to spell-check yourself, please. And punctuation is your (and all of our) friend.

They are different components of the design. The Flow control brain, opens and closes the oil port to the shock, basically turning it off and on. The Brain fade is simply a way to adjust the the flow control for faster activation, or complete lockout. In short, the brain fade allows you to decide how much of a hit it takes to activate the suspension.

The suspension design is the tried-and-true FSR. The FSR is an excellent design and is licensed to many other manufacturers like Titus (Racer-X) and Giant (NRS).

The items you mentioned are components to the shock platform which effect the performance of the suspension.

It works very well for me, Some trails I ride with the suspension fully active. Some I set the fade almost to lockout. Sometimes I like it set so that any small hit will activate it.

I ride an Epic expert. I love the rear end, the whole bike for that matter. I run the rear end one click before full lockout on race day and then soften it up a bit for longer recreational rides. I get constant power to the rear tire regardless.
