Opinions wanted on a frameset, Giant ATX-8
I've been thinking about building up a lightweight XC hardtail lately..(at least lighter than the DS motobecane i currently have)...
I like my full-susp bike but I feel it doesn't really match my riding style, and I think i'd prefer a decent hardtail that I can toss around a bit easier..
So...of course I started scouring ebay and I came across a few of these Giant ATX frames...seem decently lightweight 1750gr in 19" (not insanely light...but enough for my purposes)
https://cgi.ebay.com/New-Giant-ATX-8-...QQcmdZViewItem
I haven't been able to find much information on them anywhere...not even Giant's website...
anyone have any experience with this frameset or one like it?

I still have a TCR-1 road frameset made of the SL Aluxx tubes. It's STIFF stuff. I'd rock that frame.

ATX predated the XTC in this country (I work with a guy that has an old rigid steel one). If it is a 2007, It could be for an asian or european market. It looks like an XTC frame. Well worth the money.

Definitely might jump on one of these soon...It'll be nice to have a frame you don't see too much stateside...

awesome...that's really good news....I kinda figured it might be an asian market frame considering it ships from hong-kong and I couldn't find any info on it...

These were the Asian market raceing hardtail frames. Here in the states we had XTC's but the best price on a take off frame I saw was $799.00, and MSGR I think was well over that. Seemed like a good deal.
