Freeride

I want to know what would be an awsome freeride bike. I was looking at the Banshee Scream, any suggestions?

Depends on what you are doing. Depends on how big you go and whether you mean shore style or utah style. There are a lot of variables to work with

The pros of Scream
Adjustable wheel base makes it a good bike for any type of freeriding (short wheel base for shore and long for high speed hucking)
Strong
Adjustable travel which is great for all round usage
Decent enough price for the frame
Good warranty and pip kicks ass

Cons
Its a boat anchor. The frame is just plain heavy
Acts like a single pivot. If you are a freerider pedalling around I would get something fsr or dw linkage. And don't listen to the hype of "pedals like it is 10 pounds lighter"...my gf's banshee which is 5 pounds heavier pedals like it is 15 pounds heavier. People that say that are addicted to the bike itself.

Bighits are great bikes for the money, and shine when you put a shiver dc and a dhx or avy on it.

screams can ride differently also due to the parts you put on it... if you want something like a monster t, its gonna ride like a freekin pile of bricks, but if you go with some lighter components like an 888 or boxxer, and avoid super burly parts it should be good.

My gf's comes with a 2002 jrT (one of the lightest dc around) and its still a boat. All the weight is in the rear. I think the frame is 13.5 pounds. Can't do much to remedy that

If you like that setup look at the Transition Dirtbag. Almost the exact same design, less travel but the frame is 3 pounds lighter. As long as you aren't doing 40ft drops it should handle almost anything you throw at it.
