4300 or Yukon?
I'm in a dilemma,
I have a desicion between a 2007 Trek 4300 Disc with all stock components vs. a 2006 Giant Yukon Disc with all stock components. Im curious if a year of difference would make that big of a deal. Also, is the SR Suntour XCR with 100mm Travel is better than the RST Gila T7 with 80mm Travel?
Thanks,

I'll always say Giant just because I've never ridden one I didn't like, but drivetrain specs would be helpful.

Er, don't go with Discs on an entry level bike. Chances are the discs aren't that great anyway, and you're getting crappier components to make up for the discs.

Both the bikes he has there have discs. Sounds like he's got a deal on either one, so I'd take the Yukon.

EH, I was just saying, go with cantis over discs. Of course, if he can get the discs cheaper then the cantis.....

OP,
If possible, try to spend more money. You'll save it in the long run.
If not, I'd go with the Giant. Both bikes have "bare minimum" drivetrains from Shimano and are decked out with house brand components. Both have boing, boing shocks. The difference is that the Giant has WTB Dual Duty rims. Those disc brakes probably are very sucky, but with a good set of rims you're already ready for an upgrade.
