Buying a new bike (probably a Trek 6700) - advice and suggestions wanted :)
Hi all,
I'm about to buy a new bike as some (*&£$"$£" stole mine on Monday night
Anyway, I've been looking long and hard and have decided to get the Trek 6700.
https://www.cyclery.com.au/our-bikes-...ke-detail_4260
(actually spec'd out like this though:::
https://www.trekbikes.com/au/en/bikes...6_series/6700/
)
I took it for a test ride and out of the bikes I tested, I like the SDRAM Shifters the best out of the ones I tried.
From what I've been told everywhere the parts on it are pretty good.
I commute to work and back every day (5km each way), to get around in general and also plan to use it off road (Manly Dam).
Any reason I should get any other bike instead of this one? (was also looking at a::
Cannondale F3 for $2k
https://www.komcyclery.com.au/catalog...oducts_id=4223
and
a Scott Sportster 50 for $1500 (although not as into this as it doesn't have the SDRAM shifters)
https://www.cellbikes.com.au/p_1357_SCOTT__2008_SCALE_50
Plan to buy it in the next day or two so any comments or feedback hugely welcomed.
Thanks

go with the trek. my friends got one and its awesome.
the cannondale just seems overpriced for 2k...its got pretty much the same stuff as the 67
as far as the scott...looks a little more what id personally go for. just slap on some lx or xtr shifters and shimano feels awsome.
but i think the 67 has the better price

Something like this: https://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...0+Bike+06.aspx
or maybe one of the various bikesdirect offerings.
I believe the jenson one and the BD ones all have lockout, so commuting wouldn't be a big issue either.
EDIT: Just noticed the Jamis is only available in small, but you get the idea.

I got the Trek 6700 and I have to say, I fully agree with you.
It's an AWESOME ride. Took it around Manly Dam the day I got it and it soaked up the drops incredibly, jumped pavements on the ride there incredibly and is just such an overall sweet ride.
Cant recommend it enough to anyone!
Full suspension doesn't really work for me as I use my bike to cummute alot too.
Thanks

Is that a new form of road rage? Is it coming while going? Or is it just very exciting riding?

Its not road rage - just when you get SUPER excited from riding and from all the very rapid bouncing up and down over the bumps lol
