Oh, that's even funnier. I was wondering if that's what he thought.

I have to say that this forum has become very valuable to me in its entertainment value.

mx_599, when you wrote the above, you were asking siu blue wind if the picture of my gf holding my bike was her.

then, i believe he read it wrong and thought you posted a picture of yourself, thus asking you if you've lived here all your life or not.

and then, santiago and i thought that he was referring to your avatar picture of kiera knightley.

so, we figure he was just looking at avatars to see what people look like, even though avatars could be ... anything ... like a brazilian cartoon character.

but, gastro cleared it up. he was looking at the picture you quoted, aka my girlfriend with my trek.

thanks for spelling it out for me. i assumed wheelhot could tell that the pic was not "my" post, but merely a quote oh well, i'm glad i contributed nothing to this thread! ...apart from the hot avatar

'95 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 FS

I bought my '95 Stumpjumper M2 FS new. It has lasted a lot longer than I originally expected. Having said that, the only original parts are the frame and front deraileur, and I'm on my fourth fork. The next upgrade will be a new fork (the SID is dead), probably a SID, possibly a Fox. Some shots:

A few weeks ago

The bent wheel...

The new wheel

Rebuild in progress this past spring.

I crashed last week during a night ride and tweaked the front wheel, but that one should be easy to re-true. The fork is another story.

2007 Gary Fisher Mullet Singlespeed

stock, except for the fork which I've switched to a Manitou Nixon.

I don't have any pictures of it handy, and the bike is at work so I can't photograph it at the moment.

Mine (it's a '05 or '06 Nixon Comp) is 145mm. The bike still handles just fine.

yea just wondering... cuz i read some posts saying that if you put too much travel, you can really add a lot of stress to the frame and ultimately break it.

I like that Klein, very nice. BTW fore, what do you think of the Mibro tires? I bought a pair and havn't had a chance to use them yet.

A longer fork does equate to more stress at the head tube, but that's not something I'm worried about.

I've only got a few hours on them but my first impressions are really good. I like them more than I do the Hutchinsons on the Klein.
