Painting A Bike?

I have a Marin Hawk Hill and love it, but I really want to paint the frame. It's a dark blue matte color and I really want a yellow bike....it'll go faster lol Just wondering how much of a pain in the butt it would be to paint the frame? I can strip the bike down to the frame, but I know after painting, I'll have to have someone rebuild it as I'm not that handy at putting things back together, although I do a bang up job of taking things apart LOL Is it just too much of a pain and should I forget it? Also, if I did do it, should I go with a powdercoat? A buddy of mine owns a body shop and volunteered to paint it with auto body paint and then a clear coat. Not sure what would be better. Anyone ever done this? I'm just wondering and throwing ideas out there...Thanks!

I had mine chemically stripped and powder coated. The cost was less than having Gunnar (the maker of my frame) re-paint it. If done right, powder coating is more durable. There is a large selection of colors but, not nearly as many with paint. Paint can be mixed or blended and many powders do not blend well. Paint has to cure and be cared for like an automotive finish... Powder coat requires little maintenance, just keep it clean.

It all depends on how much you want to spend... I only spent $125 to have my frame stripped and powder coated:
