1995 Schwinn Sidewinder: Any Info?

I just got a 1995 Schwinn Sidewinder for free an am wondering if any body knows anything about these bikes? I'm assuming it is a '95 since it has a "100th Anniversary 1895-1995" sticker near the bottom bracket. It's a bike shop Schwinn, CroMoly frame and "Bomb Proof" Cromoly fork with Shimano Altus 7spd drive train.

Any info about these bikes would be appreciated!

Looks like it might be a 1996... https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...nder&Type=bike

A couple steps above a department store bike...

Edit: Okay, I took too long replying...

Depending on what you wanted to do with it, it certainly could be a useful bike. Looks like a good candidate for urban assault with slick tires

I'm currently turning it in to a touring bike that will double as a commuter. I've already put on drop bars and hope to get trekking bars some time soon. I need to get a new freewheel, new brake and shifter cables, and a cheap front dérailleur. After that I hope to get a rack put on the front to carry panniers.

I have the same bike and love it. I use every day to get to and from class. I also go on bike trips with it. I take it offroading sometimes. I biked throw sand with no problem over the weekend. I have bin using mine for years. I had gotten a Slip stream GT and was using it while this bike sat in the garage for a few years. Last Year in October the GT got stolen, So I had to go back to this bike. I just had to fix a flat and the bike worked with no problems. I would say it is a good bike.

I have one of the 100 year anniversary models and I love it! I use it as a urban hauler/ shopping bike and pulling a trailer. I put a diffrent set of rims on it, with a 8 speed cassette and I am going to swap out the triple crankset for a 40/28t crankset. The bike has been very little trouble. I have replaced everything on it, installed friction shifters, and it one very sweet commuter/urban assault bike!
