have anyone used maxxis crossmark trie?

i just ordered one from jensonusa for my trek 6500 hard tail and can't wait to try it out on paved road. my question is if you have used these do they roll nice on the road? i have read reviews on these tire and it all seems well. i was thinking of maxxis hook worm slick tire but they said that they are heavy so i passed. now i gotta figure out what to buy for the front tire. thanks.

no idea about the road, they roll pretty fast on hard pack. They have a pretty continuous center tread pattern, but aren't going to roll nearly as fast on pavement as a slick.

as for maxxis, I used their oriflamme tire for a while on my singlespeed last year, and plan on putting them on for any fast dry course this year. They are near slick in the center and hook up amazingly well in the dirt if you drop the pressure to about 30psi.

I use a Maxxis Larsen TT UST pair of tires (26x2.0) on my Trek.. great tires off road, which is perfect here in rural MI.

The crossmarks came on my Cannonan Rush team replica bike that I purchased last year. They roll nice on pavement since they are designed for low rolling resistance. If your on pavement alot then I believe tire wear is going to be your biggest problem. Don't expect them to last long.

i do still hit the trails sometime and i might save the cross mark for a hardpack trails. i guess i should order some hookworms slick and holy roller for the pavement ride. how do you like the hook worm or holy roller?

I had both of them on my fuel. They don't last too long on pavement, but they're fantastic tires. Now I run a Mobster 2.1 up front and the Crossmark in the rear.
