shifter problem
I recently took my wife's bike out of storage (its been there for ages) because she wants to start riding again.
Its an old bike with shimano alivio 7 speed rapid fire shifters. The FD works fine as does the shifter, and for some reason the shifter for the rd does absolutely nothing at all. I push the front lever and or the back lever and there is nothing that happens. The cable is attached, but nothing happens inside the shifter.
Anybody have any idea what might be wrong?
Or maybe somebody has one laying around that they might want to sell me.
Thanks guys,
Ben

Is the shifter making any clicking sounds? Does it feel like the levers are pulling and releasing cable?
Without more info, a trip to the Local bike shop would be best.

It doesn't click, and there is no resistance when I push the levers. Its as if the little ratchet inside is broken or something.
