mr. fix,
26" Rigid forks are hard to find these days, at least the good ones.
In the past, they used to make very good CrMo forks for ATBs. I have 2 of them sitting at home. But I don't see them on LBS shelves now.
All I see are those Stainless Steel rigid forks (26"), w/c weigh so much.
Perhaps your LBS guy have something for you, pref. from the early 90's.. They still made good Cromo forks then.

There is a company called .243 and a even a few others making suspension adjusted forks. I can't think of all the names but go to www.ridemonkey.com and do a search. There are 4 or 5, if I remember correctly, high quality atb rigid forks. Due to the huge influx of street rigid forks are becoming more popular as are burly short travel forks (oem only right now)

I think I found a perfect match. New Kona Project 2 rigid suspension corrected fork, CroMo....$60 @ Bikeman.com.

PAce makes the best rigid forks for non 100% trials use these days. They have a very nice carbon model...very nicely made.

Just to name a few. Look towards anyone who makes single speed frames or parts, there's where you can find a lot.
