Broken seat

So I got a new seat Friday at Scheels Sporting goods and put it on yesterday. Not bad really liking it, went out and rode some single track and some switch backs. Went out today and jumped a small little hill, landed funny and the seat rails bent. I don't know much about seats but it was a Specialized BG Comfort. Is this a common thing to happen?

This is why comfort saddles are not meant for the dirt.
