Cannondale F300 or Trek 4900

Both bikes are mint condition, however the guy selling the Cannondale is about two hours away, so before I make the trip, is the Cannondale F300 any better than the Trek 4900? They are both larger frames, and most of the riding I would be doing with them would be single or double track dirt trails (not too hilly) and pavement. Probably put semi-slicks on them. F300 is going for about $50 more than the Trek. Thanks.

2 hours drive (each way) adds up to a decent amount of money in gas at $4 a gallon. Figure that into the pricing too.
