I though rock shox forks were made in USA. I bought this new Rock shox Pilot fork but I want to by a new DH rig & I looked in the internet for boxxer forks & it happens to be said that boxxer forks are made in Taiwan including the world cups. I am European & I don't mind american parts on my bike because allot of american stuff can be good but I do not ever want chinese crap on any of my bikes including rock shox. I should buy manitou from now on. Don't buy morzocchi, these forks are ugly & they suck only get fox or manitou.

I just want everyone to know that rock shox are not american it is chinese.

Taiwan and China are two different places. Lots of people think its the same IT IS NOT!

You might even find products made in HONG KOGN. THAT IS also different!

To be honest, China product are crap but Taiwan are ok. Hong Kong products are the best of all three.

Lots of high end parts (bikes or non bikes) are made in China. I mean you can buy an Apple MacBook or IBM Thinkpad which are the best laptops you can get and THEY ARE MADE IN CHINA. CHINA not Taiwan. That is even worst. So I don't get why you can't stand the fact the boxxer are made in Taiwan.

I go out and get a 200 bucks Logitech mouse and its made in China. Big deal? not really

Manitou are good forks. All I am doing is informing people that rock shox is chinese. If that is fine with you then go ahead & have chinese parts on your bikes. China is famous in making things that fall apart & break (although so far my Pilot fork is fine) but when your chinese parts on your bike breaks & you get hurt then don't say you were not warned by.

not everything that comes out of china/taiwan/<insertforeigncountry> sucks. likewise, not everything that comes out of the usa sucks either. vice versa, not everything that comes out of said countries are awesome either.

I think it's okay to buy something to support a country or a cause. However, unless you have first hand knowledge about items failing regarding a particular product, it is very short-sighted to discount practically an entire continent due to prejudice.

You should share what bike products you have. You'll be surprised to find that much of the stuff is made in Asia.

it seems the cheaper options of anything aren't made in the U.S., i think it's just due to americans need to make too much money, from the low end worker having a nagging need to feed his family to the corporate executive that needs a third vacation home. I think all but the highest end trek bikes are made in china or taiwan, my work just outsourced something like 800 jobs to Mexico and the Phillipines. If you have an entire bike made in the U.S. good for you, would you like a cookie? But if your bike is only partially U.S. and you're complaining about chinese Rock Shox because forks are such an "important part" of a bike, are you saying other parts aren't as important? are your axles, rims, stem, seatpost clamp, brakes, quick releases not as important as a fork?

Ugh. It saddens me that people are willing to make such sweeping generalizations about other countries and cultures. Now I don't care if you think Brand X of something sucks, but don't blame the poor quality on its country of origin. If a company's product is bad, then it is the company's fault, not the people who's job it is to produce them. I'm sure that if you were to take the finest craftsman on the planet and asked him/her to build a product according to crappy specifications, the end product will still be crap--through no fault of the individual who built it.

Yes they are, but I am about as satisfied with there customer service as I am with the misquito bite I got a couple of weeks ago while I was relieving myself in the woods.

Rockshox forks are great forks, and lots of people are happy with them. Therefore the country it came from is completely irrelevant and doesn't matter.

I had Chinese food for lunch, General Tso's chicken, fried rice and wonton soup. Must say it was pretty darn good. Actually the Chinese food I had for lunch yesterday was pretty good too, as was the mexican food I had for dinner on Sunday.
