This is my first post here so be gentle. I'm planning to purchase my first real bike at the ripe old age of 58.Trying to stay on a budget, but agree with most here that I don't want a department store special. After reading reviews and comments I had kind of decided that the Trek 4300 was at the top of my price range seems like a good value for money and is very upgradeable should I really get into it.Then I stumbled across the Gary Fisher Wahoo that seems to get just as favourable reviews and comments as the Trek and I believe both made by the same company.I have a Trek dealer in town and a Fisher dealer. The Trek dealer seems very firm on pricing with the Trek @ $489 cad. How close is the Fisher to the Trek I was hopping I could maybe play both dealers against each other and purchase the best deal. My main use for the bike will be local riding to the store instead of jumping in the car hopefully a little healthier and greener but mainly trail/path rides nothing heavy duty. Thanks in advance for your comments and advice.
