Trek or Specialized
I am getting a new mountain bike, and there are two bikes that i am kind of stuck inbetween right now. The two bikes are the Trek 4300 disc and the Specialized Hardrock Comp Disc. Which one do you all think would be better for a beginner trail bike?

Ride them both, then ride a Stumpjumper and a Trek 8000 to see what you really like. Test riding is key!

If you go with Specialized I'd go with a rockhopper over the Hardrock. You won't outgrow the Rockhopper. Shop for the better frame as you can upgrade components as you wear them out.
I think the rockhoppers compare well with Trek's 4000 series. But like everyone will tell you buy the one that feels the best after test riding them.
