Another what bike post...
Looking into getting an 04 bike, i freeride/trail ride meaning wooden stunts, drops large and small to tranny, and trails consisting of climbs (which are walked occasionaly), and technical ups and downs and all that jazz. I cant justify spending thousands on a bike, so price is kind of an issue. I would get a full suspension but they are a lot for something descent, the haro extremes are nice but i'm weary of buying a cheapish fs. So for an all around hardtail leaning more torwards freeride what is the best? I like the p2, what do you guys think?
thanks a lot

Still kicking.
It depends, I can't wait for my Kona, which is more of dirt jumpish bike, but can get away with some freeriding. For your case, obviously the best is EVIL.

yeah, the evil is a great bike. the specialized p series bikes are pretty good too. you might want to check out norco's hardail shore series bikes also. .243's are nice cromoly bikes that can take the type of riding you describe also.

A 2004 P2 would work very well. If your over 5'7 I would probably go for the LONG model. The fork on the P2 actually has a rebound adjustment and feels pretty good. I almost bought a P2, but I decided to spend a bit more and get a rocky mountain flow. Its definately a sweet bike

Yeah, good for the price. The rear shock is below par, but everything else is decent. This years frame has been improved over last years. It's definately worth a test ride!
