RE: Super Heroes (Lycraphobes)

Why is it that everyone has to dress up like a "Hiker" when they go mountain biking?
You know, the earth tone shirts and baggy cargo shorts.
Sure I know they are made of modern fabrics such as cotton with moisture retaining properties.
And yes the earth tones and khakis colors do make you less visible to wild animals and other riders.
But no one is being sponsored by L.L. Bean or North Face, so why are people wearing such understated outfits?
Or is it just people trying to self conscious and/or not get made fun of by their buddies?
Hmm...actually I think I just answered my question.

I think they should make scab-colored knee-shin guards with irregularly-textured plastic caps. Then people wouldn't know if I was wearing armor or not.
