Specialized Deviant - help!

Hi,

I am trying to buy the Specialized Deviant full face helmet, but no LBS has one around here and you can't buy it online!

Can anyone help me find one? Or more specifically, pick it up for me and ship it? I would buy it from the store, of course.

Let me know - thanks!

Why not ask your local Specialized dealer to order it for you?

I'll do it.

You Western Union me 5000$ USD, I will get the cash, send you the helmet with free shipping and pocket the rest for my troubles. Sound good?

If not then do what Chris or Funny suggested, a Specialized dealer or Ebay.

Right on man! You'll do all that for little ol' me?? You're not nearly the jerk off people say...

Ebay - don't have my size. Not ordering carbon. Not ordering from Australia.

LBS - says they can't get it. What do I tell them, yes they can?

Can't find a place online to order. If you know of a place, forward the link.

All I'm asking for is some help. If you can't, or think it's a ridiculous request, you don't have to respond.

Anyone else is welcome to PM me or post here.

Thanks.

Simple. Get something your lbs can get, like a Giro Remedy.

I'll look into it, thanks. Although people who seem to have tried the Deviant say it's much better and lighter. Or is it lighter, and therefore better. Either way, I'll see about the Remedy.

The giro offers a bit more protection than the deviant. I have a deviant and I'm not overly impressed with it.

I'm not a big fan of the Deviant. It feels like an XC helmet trying to be a DH helmet. I have a TLD D2 Carbon and IMO, it's a much better helmet. The Remedy is more similar to the D2, it just didn't fit my head as well as the D2 did.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried on a Deviant? I couldn't get it to fit on my head. One size would pinch, the next size slid around. Ended up with a Fox Rampage.

I am about due for a new full face. I find myself using my Fox Flux helmet more.

Regular Deviant

Why not get the carbon though? Price? If not then go for it, it offers jsut as much protection.

Hey - thanks for the links and advice. I'll call up those guys and see if they'll ship it. I guess Specialized has something about selling stuff online? I've noticed the same thing with their seats. They prefer you to work with the store. Fair enough.

I'll check out other helmets and no, I haven't tried one yet. I guess reading the reviews about how light it is was something appealing to me since my mountain riding can be really mixed. But I'll check out Fox, and Giro and the TLD mentioned.

Yeah, carbon is a bit on the pricey side for me. But maybe I'll sell some other stuff to justify it.

Yes, and sometimes all my sizes are out of stock. Thanks for the tip, though.
