Up at six. Mixed up some blueberry cream cheese pancakes. A few slices of bacon, and some freshly chunked up pineapple went well with. The French press was perking up some evil black dark Italian roast grounds.

Packed the wifey off to her parents for the weekend - I'm working tomorrow and Sunday night, so......I get to stay and ride today. (and tomorrow, before work.)

Headed to a new to me spot. Good stuff. Not super techy, but enough to keep me on my toes. More sustained climbing in one area than in many other spots around here. A few fun playtime bits, and a kick ass fun descent back down to the car at the end.

Stopped off on the way home to pick up some excellent curried lamb and veggies with freshly made sesame seed naan bread. Now, post ride shower, drinking some Guinness while surfing teh intarwebs.

Likely to pack myself off early to bed, to get up for a long morning in the saddle tomorrow.

I made the mistake of buying some packaged frozen burgers (President's Choice Angus). I usually make my own delicious patties, but I decided to try these out. They were okay but not as good as mine.

I like to put dijonaisse (half dijon mustard, half mayonaise), lettuce, tomato, blue cheese and pleurotte mushrooms in olive oil (not sure what the english word is for those type of mushrooms). When I remember I like to put slices of capicollo ham on the BBQ until they get into crispy slices as a nice alternative to bacon slices.

Last year I actually celebrated my first 4th of July as we were in San Francisco and the surrounding area on holidays. That was a lot of fun.

Burgers were good, the home-made pickles were better, cobbler was the best.

Wednesday before my jaw surgery I made some freaking awesome lamb vindaloo. Now I can't eat anything besides particle free liquids. And biking is out of the question for probably 5 weeks

Checking in on the 4th of July from wintery West Australia.

Not having hamburgers. I worked all day today and might sneak a ride in tomorrow before going to watch my girlies dance competition.

Ran in the local Americana 5k. I was tired as hell (25-26 min) because the night before we were shooting off fireworks. Watched the Americana parade. Went to the Americana festival and rode my bike around there in the rain. Came went a friend's house and watched a movie, then we lit off some smoke bombs. Had a Hamburger (It was good). Saw the big fireworks show. Came back and lit off more fireworks. I now have a slight ringing in my ears (worth it though).

Oh man, my dad and I used to make those all the time. Until my mom accidentally took a big bite out of one. We don't make them too often anymore. With hot pepper cheese, spicy mayo or bbq sauce on a kaiser bun. And bacon...can't forget that. That's a good burger.

Ok, you got me confused...your brother-in-law came in? So, you're sister's husband? Brought his girlfriend? Did I read that right?

Weren't those the mad cow recall ones?

We did burgers and turkey-and-cheddar franks.

The newly-restored 30-year-old BBQ worked perfectly. Wish I had some 'before' pics. Brass wire brush and some Wenol brought the (not 6061) tubes back to life. High-heat green for the body:

You gotta eat hot dogs on the 4th (if you're from the usa). I ate 3, ~60 short of Joey Chestnut and Kobyashi (sp!).
