Some questions before I spend my doe.
I visited my LBS again today. They said they could give me my 1x8 Crankset up with a bashguard and or chain guide thing for around 65.00. He said it's be a crank with a replaceable chain ring and all that.
Didn't give me anything on Brand names though. But they use shimano and sram from what I saw.
does this sound reasonable?
free installation.
Now that I officially have ditched the FD, I need a front brake lever (i have the shifter lever combo things) and a RD 8 speed shifter and a Rear brake lever. Any good thought, keep in mind MONEY IS an issue still.
I have around 300 bucks to spend, but I don't want to push it all into the bike.
Second, Im thinking of just getting the Dart 2-3 as a fork, the quality isnt great, but my uncles Iron horse came with the dart 1, it is SOOOO much better than my fork, my fork is all but fully rigid. its shot.
after this, no more money on this trek, only to keep it riding.
just as a side not, I see all these different V brakes, do you really notice a difference between different V brake sets?

You found a bike shop that accepts deer? If your getting that for a doe imagine what you'd get for a buck!
Relax, I'm only teasing. I notice a difference when I hit XT. Everything else vee wise feels very, very simiar.

Is this the same lbs that has screwed you over repeatedly?
It sounds fishy. Ask for the exact model of all the components they're going to install and then check the value yourself.

I was mainly looking for prices today, Before I even pull money out I'm going to ask if I can see the crank.
or at least a picture.
Sadly, it is, BUT! I didn't talk to the guy who only road bikes (the owner) who has been the one in the past.
However, I WILL check the other one in the neighboring town.
LOL< I wish they'd take a deer for payment.
