Fullface Helmet.

Hi all,

I finally got myself a fullface helmet after a loooong market search. It seems that if someone has a large head then he is in big trouble with helmets. After trying Giro, Bell, 661, TLD i lost all hope since all where small. Luckily only Fox makes an XXL helmet 63-64cm and it fitted me like a glove. The helmet weighs approx 1400-1450g but it is MX-Race certified so it offers loads of protection. The build quality is next only to TLD, imho better than 661 and Giro. Only 3 vents though due to the MX nature of the helmet.

Here is a pic. I highly recommend the helmet to anyone in search for a supersized helmet.

PS the pic makes the lid seem larger than normal. Thats the lens of my cameraphone that are to blame for.

I actually think it looks small.

Loads and loads of more protection. MX helmets have a proper shell outside the polysterene inner shell. Bike helmets have only a very thin outer shell. What you loose though is weight. MX helmets are 10-20% heavier than bike helmets. On the other hand they are certified for MX-Racing, which means they can protect you several times more that you will ever need while riding a bike.

Overall, the main advantage is that MX helmets offer more sizing options and higher manufacturing quality for a given price in direct comparison with a similarly priced bike helmet.
