The problem is letting people like santiago post freely.

I think it would be funny if when I woke up tomorrow this post didn't exist anymore.

Oh, I agree with you on the overmoderation around here.
Feel free to eat Dicky while you're making your mind up.

Deleting posts isn't right, seeing a locked thread and someone being a tit can help teach new members what's wrong. When someone posts something like shockers, porn (where it isn't appropriate) or a giant rant of racism and what not, sure that should be deleted. But often it's someone breaking the rules naively or a bit of over-the-top flaming. The content itself isn't extremely appalling on it's own but the one responsible for it simply has no place here.

I know a forum where the major form of moderation is deleting posts and threads, hardly ever banning members or locking threads. Obviously, it's only an aesthetic fix. The members run rampant and the board sucks.

While we're on the topic of moderation, what's with the people of this board? It's not hard to find a thread where two people disagreed on something but they started right in on each other instead of coming close to a conclusion on what they were originally talking about.

And all the passive aggressive crap around Cheeto. I don't know your exact age, somewhere in the teens I think, though I first started posting here when I was 14 and the only flak I got was from one guy although he was notorious for being an ass and is now banned, or at least the account is. Yeah I've seen the posts that I think first got people on him, and it's all either inexperience or ignorance, which is countered by learning. It'd be easier to do if folks don't jump down is throat every time he posts. That's what happened to me with whatshisface two years ago and I eventually just stopped posting or lurking, it put a big crappy taste in this place for me.

Not exactly sure where you're going with that, but I think I'll pass. No trouble making up my mind.

If you mean my "whinge" post, it just means I agree that this place is overmoderated in comparison to some others. And think that whining about said overmoderation in a thread of its own is kinda silly. As I said, it's their site, they can do with it what they will.

That would be a rather large loss to you, sir. Besides...asking D to be mature is a large order.

But then again, the threads there are like these here, and these ones can be searched and people can still learn off the old threads.

I persoannly think they should compile all my threads into a big organized sticky lol..... People wouldn't have many questions to ask after they read all that and the answers lol!!!
I learn something new every day.

Reading and contributing several times to a thread like that is equally silly.

Yes, but it doesn't mean they're above explaining their actions nor does it mean you or I have no right to question.

I guess the mods are reluctant to open this particular can of worms.
Never mind, history is written by the folks in charge, and they don't have to explain squat either so why should this place be any different?

Btw, this was never about Pete & RicOh. They were just the two most recent examples.

Now, can you help me choose a stem cap to suit general XC riding? Nothing extreme, just your average trails, but I think I need to upgrade.

Oh speaking of epic BF stuff.

The guy who was manning the start gate on Sunday was wearing Ryders glasses. I lost it every time.
