Transition MTBs?
Are these bikes all hype and over priced or are they worth the money? Cause I was looking at getting a double. And no one seems to know much

Transition has actually positoned themselves price-wise to be an affordable alternative to normal "boutique" brands. The owners and employees (all five of them, I believe) are all avid riders themselves in one of the best riding areas in the Pacific Northwest - - the far Northwest corner around Bellingham and only a stone's-throw from Whistler and the Shore. This is the environment where their designs get tested and refined. They are well-suited to West Coast-style riding. Because they are all riders, they know first-hand how difficult it is to afford quality hardware and have worked hard to give as much bang for the buck as possible.
They design all the bikes themselves. Kevin does all of the AutoCad and Solidworks layouts and then the designs get sent to their contract frame manufacturer in Taiwan, who mocks up the prototypes to test. When the prototypes have been run through the wringer for a season, they go into production over the fall and winter for the next model year. Because they are small, they can make adjustments in the manufacturing process 'on-the-fly' very quickly. My Blindside has a totally different-design upper shock mount than both the protos and early production models because of concerns about the early ones cracking. They redesigned them and got the change into the early-08 production run so that mine had the new upper shock mount. I'm sure any older front triangles that end up having troubles are going to be replaced no questions asked.
When you call Transition, you get Kevin or Kyle, the owners, or maybe Cameron, the North American Dealer rep. You get the top honchos on the phone.
What you will get for your money is a well-crafted bike that has been abused for at least a season by people who ride like you do (or maybe better
) before that design is released to the public. And they will stand behind their product and be there to take your questions should any arise.
