New Wheelset, New fork,and BB7 installed!
Got my order in today! Rhyno Lite rims with Shimano Deore hubs. Went to the LBS to get the star fangled nut, cable, chain, and Presta valved tubes.
I have everything installed and almost ready to go.
I need to get the right length of Housing for the brake cable tomorrow, after I get that, I can fine tune the BB7's.
As you can see right now the brake cable is just hanging there right now.
Also, Any Ideas of how I should run the cable? no cable stays or anything for the front, lol.
Cant just run it down the side of the fork because when the fork compresses, then cable slacks.

No, it is not on backwards.
If that was the case the disk brake would be on the front side, and the dropouts facing the rear...
Thats how the fork is, the arc goes to the back. Ask the other guy on this forums who had that fork.
The words would also be jacked up if it was the other way.

thats identical to the fork I just took off my bike, thats an 2001 approx.
Look at the NEW forks.

If I turn the fork around, then the majority of the tire would be to the back of the fork, it would look totally ridiculous.

The secret behind Manitou forks is the trailing dropouts that make your bike handle 'quicker' in the woods. Shortens the wheelbase and steers mad.

It's good that you stand behind your convictions though...if you really did flip it around and ride it before showing a pic...I would have felt kinda responsible for warping your mind.

edit: Serious about the cable routing though. Inside the fork leg if possible. (keeps it from getting snagged)
edit2: Actually...you could run the housing straight up the back of the leg through the lower zip tie and the up over the arch through the upper zip tie...then to the lever.

I didn't know how big of a rotor would of worked anyway.
Figured I'd give it a try and see how I like it and go from there.
This is the last major upgrade on this bike. I just need to get a bashguard and a jump guide or whatever you call it and then I'm done, except for a new 8 speed shifter, and two new brake levers.

Avid FR5 levers are nice.
I just got a set of new Deore 9sp shifters off ebay for $5'ish...I'm pleasantly surprised. I put them on my junker and they work pretty well given the price I paid. I didn't even know they're "2-way release". Not that I care...just interesting how technology trickles down.
