My buddy's been riding the Sherman for about 6 months now and really likes his. My preference is my Z1. Over the years, I've had forks from both companies, and have had better luck with Marzocchi, but would much rather have a Manitou over a Rock Shox.

A lot of people think that photo is fake.

For the sake of the fork I would grab the Z1...however my next fork will be the firefly. I really want to put on to work and the adjustable travel (which can now be used for aggresive riding) would suit my ht much better than the z1. Hopefully the damping is up the par because my Z1 is wicked

Yeah, I wasn't really convinced by the photo myself. But you never know with those pinkbike chumps. They naysay anything they can find and are notorious for second guessing and overexaggerating.
