9sp thumb shifters

SO I have loved the simplicity of bar-end shifters on my commuting bike, and was wondering if anyone still made simple thumb shifters for flat bars. I have seen several on ebay and other places but they are at most 8sp and I run 9sp. Anyone seen some 9sp thumb shifters? Or is there any chance that the 7 or 8sp shifters will shift a 9sp in "friction" mode? Will a left shifter have enough cable pull to shift 9sp?

Yea, I saw those too, but they cost more than a pair of "rapid fire" shifters, plus I'd have to buy another set of bar-ends. Thats at least $100. I just see all sorts of NOS thumb shifters for 6,7,8sp, for <$15 and thought about it. Oh well.

The Paul's/bar end combo is your only option, unless you cadge something up on your own.

FWIW, front thumbies on friction mode work very well with current front mech offerings.
