Lockout option: tora 318 solo air v. F100 rlc

I'm leaning more towards the Santa Cruz Superlight (probably going to ride it again this week) for my new ride. Looking at the fork that comes on the Superlight R XC version (F100 r), I noticed it doesn't have a lockout option. While not really a "no-go", I was thinking about having that on my new bike.

Upping to a F100 rlc changes the price quite a bit (even if I were to buy it separately and just swap the parts), so I was looking at the Tora 318 solo air, which is also option. It seems that it has a "lockout" capability, but it is about a 1 lbs heavier. Are the two not really comparable as far as quality? The Reba Team is also an option but it also pushes the price higher than I would want.

    Thanks!

What do you want to use lockout for? I use lockouts front and rear, but only when I know I will have extended time on road/fireroad.

all are quality forks...but the ride quality just wont be the same with Tora, partly from weight, partly from construction.

Seriously, if you are able to fork out the kind of dough needed for a santa cruz-get the fox fork. It is utter silliness to spend that much money and quibble over a couple hundred extra. You just can't beat a fox.

Oh, and lockout shmockout-if you are using the bike for what is intended (mountain biking!) then you will not even notice the absence of a lockout function, which IMO is overrated.

The front lockout would be handy for the occasional ride on pavement/fire road/rail trail, so purely as a bonus (most pavement/rail trail time would be on a road bike). I hope to start doing some adventure races over the next year which may have some longer stretches of road/fire road than most of my rides; most rides/races around here I would use the front suspension.

If I were you I would go for the fox, hands down. What you pay will definitely be made up for in ride quality and you can always dial up the compression if you are riding on the road.
