Help...Which bike should i go for

hi guys, i'm new to this forum so go gentle if question has been posted before. I've been mountain biking for last couple of months on a hybrid we go out couple of times a week distance varies between 20 and 30 miles on tow paths, bridal paths, woods small amount on roads etc and i really need to upgrade to something that can cope with what i'm doing. i had been highly recommended to get a rockhopper i've found a comp disc 08 for £599 but i've also been told to look at Cannondale F5 disc or Trek 6000. Are they all much of a muchness or does one have better parts etc. My budget is topped out at £600. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Test ride them all and choose the one you like most, but the RH has a better fork than the other two, but then again it is an 8 speed while the other tow are 9 speed (Also I have the C'dale and it is great)

+1, those are both good, so if you like the feel of one vs the other, go with it. As for 8 speed vs 9 speed, BFD. When I upgraded my RH I kept the 8 speed and went to XT shifters. BUT, I upgraded the fork on both my bikes. I'd much rather have a better fork than an extra gear.
