Do not ever ship with DHL or use Office Max. On plus side PUSH is fantastic.

3 weeks ago I shipped my Fox RP2 to Push industries to have them work their magic. I walked into the local Office Max in Arroyo Grande, CA because it was the most convinient place to ship my package. I jumped throught their hoops and even paid for the additional insurance and over night shipping and sent my pakage on its way . The next day I recieve a call from Push saying that they recieved my package and work order, but no Shock. I called DHL and they said that they would look through their lost and found for a couple of days, and if the shock does not surface I can go ahead and file my claim. So I wait 4 days and no shock. I proceed to file my claim with the company and am assured I will hear back from them within 48 hours. So 1 week later I call and say that I have not heard anything back, what is going on? They tell me that there is nothing I can do as Office Max is the shipper I have no rights. This would have been good information to have the half dozen times I talked to DHL about this situation.

So today I call Office Max and they imediatley started giving me the run around. Their positon is they are not the shipping company and any problem should be between me and DHL. They did not even want to get involved in any way. I finally get them to offer to call and they tell me they will but it will be when they are not too busy, hopefully today. I said give me a break. so they said they would actually call right away. So now the waiting begins.

On the plus side, Push has been fanastic. They offered to get me a Fox RP23 at a good price and do the tune to it to make up for the headaches that they in no way caused. I cannot believe how good their service has been on the whole thing. The shock will be installed this week and I look forward to giving it a try.

yeah, shipping stores can be a problem. i remember when my gf had her computer damaged in shipping (bent case) and UPS said that she wasnt the shipper.

do you want to hear who the shipper on the form was: "The UPS Store"

so dumb. she did get it squared away though and got her money.

I use DHL all the time for my business. I completely depend on them to keep me running.
They have never lost any of my packages and the only delays I've experienced were from
heavy storms near airports they fly out of.

RANT WARNING!
IMHO, DHL has to be the most incompetent shipping company out there. I have no clue how they stay in business. When I was an independent consultant we shipped a unit overnight that absolutely, positively had to be there the next day. The firm we dealt with used DHL who delivered the unit two days late.
My wife had expensive medication shipped directly from the manufacturer to our house. DHL consistantly delivered it to the wrong house three times. When we called DHL asking where it was they insisted it was delivered. After tracking it down in our neighborhood and reporting the error. They shrugged it off. The manufacturer changed shippers, problem solved.
FedEx and UPS have their problems from time to time, but I've never dealt with a shipper that was as incompetent as DHL. Everytime I see one of their trucks I think, there goes another shipment that's late or being delivered to the wrong address.

DHL is the worst of the lot to send a bike on if you are going on a trip. There's a really good chance it will be lost or stolen. Plus when you contact them about it, they will deny responsibility.

You may think I'm joking with this, but I have seen it happen way too many times to not take this seriously. DHL literally sucks.
