LX vs XT
I just bought a Sun MTX to replace my bent Alex DP-20 rear. But I was thinking since I'm going to need to have a wheel built any way if I should drop the $50-70 on a XT rear hub and ditch my old LX. Is the XT that much better then the LX? Or are there any other solid lower cost options for a new rear hub? Thanks.

Hmm, Shimano make quality rear hubs, WTB/American Classic also. Hmm, they might be some technical difference between both (too lazy to check it out), but the obvious one should be the price and weight, maybe the bearings are different.
Oh yea, you referring to disc hubs or normal hubs?

If I were in your shoes, I'd likely go with the LX and then take the time to take it apart and properly adjust it before running it. I've seen the lock nuts on the drive side of many Shimano hubs come loose after a few rides and this will lead to pre-mature wear on the hub. I doubt that most people could feel the difference between a properly adjusted and greased XT and LX hub when riding.
