Boxxer Race? Any good?
I know a local site where a guy is selling a RockShox Boxxer Race Fork 6" and i was thinking, thats perfect for my bike. I am not sure if i will get them yet but i told my riding buddies anyway. One said that he has known people to have trouble with their Boxxers where they have blown seals realy easily and stuff.
What do you guys think of them?

Although I am a newb, we need to know what bike you have. I've heard different things. Boxxer Crowns require 125$ dollars to replace. Generall,y unless you have a whole lot of cash and a STRONG headtube with a good Downhill frame, I don't think that a boxxer is good...Its really high and wouldn't be good for Xc, I think....Then again, Im a newbie.

You are correct, Boxxer's are know for blowing seals. They do have an upgrade kit that helps this, but it's still one of RS's downfall. They are a good fork, but do have their weaknesses.

first of all he wouldnt be stupid enough to try and ride xc only with a dual crown......if your into freerideing and dh the boxxer is a decent fork not a good fork or a great fork just a decent one. the boxxer race is very firm in compression and if you ride dh it will rattle you to hell. if your gonan spend that much money on a fork buy soemthing diffrent......like a marzzochi jr.t or super t. or a manitou sherman slider those would be much better forks than the boxxer. if you do get the boxxer there is an upgrade kit avalible that makes the fork much more plush for only about 25 bucks. that makes a world of diffrence it just opens the oil valve to flow more freely through compression becasue the stock ones are to small. good luck!

The Fork Model is the 2003 one
My bike IS a craftworks FRM125 and it will take any 6" fork
I have heard that the boxxer is better for racing than jr ts. Is this true?
Also what is the 'plusher' upgrade called?
