I need help .....
 

Hello,

I am trying to find a bike for myself (6' tall loaded with 190 pounds) but I am lost with all the reviews/brands etc.

I need it for daily pleasure rides in Vancouver area (road and offroad), light, low maintenance, loaded, full suspension etc.

I have no idea what's the best choice. I don't want to buy another one for years.

I would like to have your opinion/advise.

Vancouver, BC or Vancouver, WA? (yes, it really might make a difference).

Depends on what kind of off-road riding you plan to do. If you want to ride on the road as well as gravel roads/other mild off-road stuff, a cross bike might more up your alley than a full suspension bike.

It all really depends on what kind of riding you want to do and how much you want to spend, but you can't go wrong with any entry level mt bike from a major brand (trek, specialized, giant, etc).

If it were me, I would scope out the offerings at my favorite lbs first.

Our OP probably wouldn't need a MTB in Vancouver, Amsterdam...

Well then, I think a visit to the Deep Cove Bike Shop is in order.

Really, any Vancouver shop I'm sure can help you fine. You are in Mecca. If you don't find what you're looking for, a pop over the border to one of the Bellingham shops (Fanatik, Kulshan or Fairhaven) will do the trick.
