Which tires would you choose for road riding?
I ride about 90% on the road and 10% on local trails but no real "mountain" biking. I'm either getting the Kenda Kwest or Specialized Nimbus. The Kendas are $15 each, the Specialized $30 each. Otherwise I don't know if one is really "better" than the other any thoughts?

I ride the Kwests on my MTB. I switch them back and forth a couple of times/week depending on if I am on asphalt or off trail. So far they have been fine. I have not been able to test them in the wet yet so the jury is still out on that. I can't help you with the Specialized's.

Maxxis High Roller SS, since you do hit the dirt it is nice to have the grip for the corners.

I use Vittorias on my road bike for the road. I leave my mountain bike for dirt only.

i have the kenda k-rad on one of my bikes. i use it mainly to ride up to the gym but friends borrow it on the local trails and it seams to work pretty good on both surfaces.

I bought the Nimbus, basically beacuse I will buy anything Specialized puts in front of me. It's sad, I know.
Anyway, I am not really convinced it was the right choice. They work, they roll fine, their quiet. But it's a lot of money to spend when you compare it to some other options. Oh well, at least I will probably never need to replace them.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
I find the Kwest to be a slow rolling but rather tough tyre and have been really happy with the Schwalne Marathons on my mtb conversion as they are both tough and fast.

Too late for the OP I guess, but I loves me my Schwalbe Big Apples. They are not light at all. But they do roll very nicely. And they have to be the softest ride around.

I've got the Kwests on a spare wheelset for around town use. They roll pretty fast and cheap to boot.

I roll on some Forte Gothams, not light but they are smooth and roll pretty good at 75 psi, I was impressed, especially at $12 each from performance. They are very flat resistant, I've run them over lots of large glass shards and other stuff with nothing making it through to the tubes.
