Help with bike value/Specialized FSR Sport
Hey all, I am looking to get back into riding and dont need anything too crazy. I am looking at this Specialized FSR Sport on ebay, and wanted some opinions. I believe it is a '99. He will take $450 for it, and I wanted to know if it is worth that, or should I be looking elsewhere/newer model? I am 5'10", athletic 220lbs, and like long walks on the beach. Thanks for any input. -JG

Link was bad for me but it seems to be this one here?:

Interesting mix of high-end wheels and lower-end FSR. With the ugly-long stem and the boat-anchor tractor seat and everything else stock, I would say $450 is at the outer limits of what it's worth. The frame itself is fine but the stock RS Deluxe shock may be a bit long in the tooth as far as life expectancy.

Thanks for the advice, do you have any suggestions given my size, and the fact that I will be riding around town mostly with occasional weekend trail rides? Something used in the $3-$500 range, hardtail?

You're going to encounter a lot of choices, so be sure to just get out and ride a few, pick the one that has the best 'feel' to you.

If you're interested, I've got a 2005 Giant Rainier with an upgraded crank, Thomson seat post, and a few other good bits along with a newer upgrade shock that you might be interested in. Here's the local ad I put up. Drop me an email Buckshot77@msn.com or PM me if you're interested.
