Favorite grip?
Time for new handlebar grips...what are your favorites for XC riding? was looking at Salsa pepperjacks, what do you use?

I use the Salsas lock ons, actually. I have been happy.

I have a set of profile design dual durometer grips on my ride, I am very pleased with them, however I fear that this is another question like:which platforms do you prefer, or which hardtail is best for me. Lots of opinions as everyone is not the same, try some out and decide which ones you like best.

THe Oury/ODI Combos that I am currently using, are a bit bigger around than I like. I preffer a slimmer Lock on grip Such as the surfas. The Nashbar house grips works OK for the money, and I always liked the K-2 Pipeclamp grips. Ive been running the Titec Pork rinds on the hardtail, and find it very comfortable. It is prone to twist without safety wire.

I liked my Salsa Pepperjacks and Oury grips before switching to ODI lockons, got tired of the elements getting between the bar and grip. I like the Oury and ODI Rogue for the lockons best, but the ODI Ruffians aren't too bad either although a bit skinny.

I've got ODI Rogues on four of my mt bikes, the fourth (a commuter) sports a pair of Ergon GR2s. I've tried the Ruffians but didnt like them. They were pretty abrasive on my gloves til they wore out and became slick. The Rogues offer a better grip. The Ergons are really great on commutes. Very comfy and the integrated bar ends offer different hand positions.

Lizard skins peaty lock ons. Lock ons are the only way to go...easy to install, easy to pull off if you need to change components around.

i like ritchey TVG grips .. kind of a bump in the middle.. and they are cheap. I run them on all my flat bar bikes.

As said before, grip choice is a personal thing. That said, I really am sold on the Lock-On type, having ridden for years with glued on/hair sprayed on old school grips. Changeout is soooo easy with the Lock-Ons.
I personally like the ODI Rogues, fairly big grip and seems to go with my big-assed hands. Also, the pattern on the Rogues is the same all around, so I can spin 'em around as they wear, get more mileage out of 'em.
