29er and a baby seat?

Thought I would ask in the mtb forum.

I plan to get a 29er (motobecane outcast) for myself. My brother recently had his bike stolen but I'd like him and his daught (2yrs old) to be able to cruise with me on bike paths etc. He said he won't buy a bike again, this being his 2nd bike stolen. So, I get the bike for myself as a second bike, get a rack and baby seat and put it on there when he wants to ride. But since it's a 29er I wonder if I would be able to accomodate a baby seat? Anyone know?

No real issues- 29ers use 700c wheels.

Sounds like your brother needs a lock. As for the baby, do her a favor and put her in a trailer. Much safer.

And more fun to ride with. You get the added challenge of a trailer (duh) when riding on the sidewalk.

He had a lock on both the bikes that were stolen. He needs an alarm system is more like it. We think we know who stole them but have no proof. Someone hopped his fence and stole it from his back yard, locked.

A trailer would be great and we are looking into that as well, but he already has a baby seat (thief actually took the bike and left the seat.)

The reason I was asking about fitment was because on my road bike I put a rack on and I thought the clearance was pretty tight and I'm running 700x23 tires. I'm going to get the mtb bike regardless, and if the baby seat won't work, in comes the trailer for sure.
