Schwinn Rocket 3... what back rims fit??

I damaged my rear rim very badly and am in need of a new rim. I am wondering what wheels may fit directly from another bike or what new rim assembly I could purchase and use to replace my old one.

I can give any info needed. Any advice?

The bike has tube tires and rim brakes. It has Shimano Alivio derailer and 8 sprockets on the back hub.

The sticker on the rim says:

SCE-17 6061-T6 559X17 Xrims By Alex

I am looking for something to replace or improve so this does not happen again. Not really sure of my options yet.

Oh yeah, sorry. Any 8/9 speed non tubeless rim brake compatible mtb rim/wheel should work.

$73 through Friday with 15% discount

Suggestion based on your Alivio RD which is decent but still low-end spec.

Path shown on the web page shows "Home / Shop » Bike Parts » Mountain Wheels" - - so you can safely assume 26".
